- Our organization is a multi-project community organization. Funds will be distributed in these key areas:
Our GED Program supports adults in the community who want to further their education by providing a GED program. The program provides free tutoring and resources to help students prepare for the exam and covers the cost of the exam.
Our Youth Leadership Program is offered to middle and high school students. The students participate in activities such as sports, arts and crafts, games, homework assistance, life skills, and community service with adult mentors and volunteers.
Our Friday Night Community Meals Program offers a free hot meal and beverages to anyone in need. Through this program, our volunteers build trusting relationships with our homeless and impoverished neighbors who may need long-term solutions to lifelong problems related to homelessness and substance and alcohol abuse.
Our weekly Food Pantry offers more than food. We offer clothing and basic toiletries items needed for daily life in a welcoming atmosphere of love and care.
Our Community Resource Center is an extension of our Food Pantry. We are developing a small resource center equipped with laptop/PCs and staffed by volunteers to guide individuals to available resources for jobs, utility bills assistance, healthcare, prescription assistance, obtaining important documents (birth certificates, driver’s licenses, Social Security cards, etc), money management/budgeting, and a physical address to receive important forms from local and state agencies.
Our Driver’s License and Exam Preparation Program is an extension of our GED and Youth Leadership Program that offers students and adults the opportunity to obtain a state driver’s license through driver’s training and practice exams. Volunteers teach the course, and the costs for the exams, the required materials, and transportation to the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles are covered by the program. - Target Audience
